This is William O. and Janna (Te Kolste) Walvoord’s home in Holland Nebraska around the turn of the 20th Century.  The pathway from the picket fence gate leads to the boardwalk of the Walvoord Store seen in the lower left of the photo.  The house still stands today.

  1. Looking up the family tree and this is the best site!! You have done a great job. I will be sending you a picture of Ada Shear my grandmother. Maybe you have it already. I never new her met her once in the facility at Aberdeen. She had Alzheimer so she did not want to visit.

  2. While searching more of my ancestry, I came across the fact that my great uncle Albert Van Diest married Toni Walvoard in 1929. Albert was apparently was the second child of Gerrit Van Diest, my great great grandfather.who came from Holland in 1860. An interesting connection with the Walvoad ancestry is the fact that I attended the four-year theological seminary in Dallas, TX. where and when John F Walvoard was president and one of my professors.
